Short answer: most LinkedIn profile writers charge between $150 and $900 for a one-time profile rewrite. Marketplace gigs and budget services start under $100, specialist writers usually charge $150 to $500, senior and executive profiles cost $500 to $900, and C-suite or premium services run $900 to $1,300 or more. Ongoing LinkedIn ghostwriting is a separate service, usually billed monthly at $1,000 to $5,000.
LinkedIn profile writing is one of the least standardized services in the career industry. The same “LinkedIn makeover” can cost $85 from one provider and $1,095 from another, and the difference is rarely obvious from a sales page. To make this guide useful, we checked the published prices of seven providers, including ourselves, and looked at what each price actually covers.

LinkedIn Profile Writer Cost at a Glance
| Tier | Typical price | Best for | What you usually get |

| Senior and executive | $500–$900 | Directors, VPs and senior consultants | A live consultation, deeper positioning work and more than one revision round |
| C-suite and premium | $900–$1,300+ | CEOs, founders and board members | A senior writer, interviews and a bio-style narrative built around leadership scope |

What the comparison shows
- Cheap often means resume-based. At the budget end, the LinkedIn profile is frequently an add-on to a resume package and is written from your resume rather than from a conversation about where you are going.
- Above about $500, you are mostly paying for time. Consultations, extra revision rounds and senior-level positioning are what separate the $500 to $1,100 tier from the middle of the market.
- Price and scope do not line up neatly. A $199 profile and a $750 profile can include very different things. Compare deliverables, not just the number.
What Drives the Price of a LinkedIn Profile Writer
Your seniority and career complexity
A director with fifteen years of cross-functional work takes longer to position than a graduate with two internships, so many writers price by level. iCareerSolutions, for example, charges $495 for mid-career professionals, $695 for directors and VPs and $895 for C-suite profiles, with the same deliverables in every tier. The extra money pays for the time it takes to turn a complex career into a clear story.
How much of the profile is rewritten
A headline and About section alone costs less than a full rewrite that also covers every relevant Experience entry, your Skills strategy, the Featured section and profile settings. The Experience section is where most of the work is, and it is also the part budget services most often skip or keep short. Always check which sections are actually included.
How deep the process goes
A questionnaire-only process is cheaper than one with a live consultation. The extra time usually shows: writers who ask better questions find better proof points, and proof points are what make a profile credible rather than generic.
Revisions, turnaround and bundles
One revision round is standard at the lower end, while some executive services include two full rounds. Turnaround is usually about a week for a first draft, with rush delivery costing extra. Bundles change the math too: ResumePerk lists a resume, cover letter and LinkedIn bundle at $196, and ResumeEdge lists a resume and LinkedIn bundle at $165. If you need both documents, a bundle is usually cheaper. If your LinkedIn profile needs to do more than mirror your resume, a dedicated profile service is often the better buy.
What You Are Paying For: A Before-and-After Example
The difference between a $90 profile and a good one is easiest to see in the writing itself. Here is the kind of change a full rewrite makes. This is an illustrative example, not a client profile.
Headline
BeforeSenior Manager at a logistics company
AfterOperations leader | Scaling multi-site warehouse teams | Faster, cheaper fulfillment across six sites
About section, opening lines
BeforeExperienced professional with a demonstrated history of working in the logistics industry. Skilled in operations, management and leadership.
AfterI run warehouse operations that have to work at peak season, not just on paper. For eight years I have led multi-site teams, rebuilt slow processes and made fulfillment faster without adding headcount.
The rewrite states a level and a focus, gives the reader scope and proof, and uses the terms a recruiter or client would actually search for, without stuffing them in. That is the work you are paying a writer to do.
Questions to Ask Before You Hire a LinkedIn Profile Writer
Two quotes at the same price can buy very different work. These questions make the difference visible before you pay:
- Which sections will you rewrite? You want the headline, About and Experience at minimum.
- Will we talk, or is it a questionnaire? Either can work, but you should know which you are paying for.
- How many revision rounds are included? One is the minimum; more is common at higher prices.
- How do you choose keywords, and where do they go? A good writer explains their approach without promising to “beat the algorithm”.
- Can I see examples for someone at my level? A senior profile and an entry-level profile need very different writing.
- Do you need access to my account? The right answer is no. You should receive copy to paste in yourself.
- What exactly do I receive at the end? Finished copy, notes on where each part goes, and recommendations for Skills and the Featured section.
Cheap vs Expensive: Red Flags at Any Price
A higher price does not guarantee a better profile, and a low price is not automatically a bad deal. Walk away if you see:
- Guaranteed interviews or recruiter messages. Nobody controls hiring outcomes.
- Keyword-stuffed samples that repeat the same phrase in every section
- No questions asked before writing begins
- A request for your LinkedIn password. A writer can deliver finished copy without ever logging in to your account.
Is Paying for a LinkedIn Profile Writer Worth It?
For many professionals, yes, and the reason is in the data. In a field study by ResumeGo covering 24,570 job applications, candidates with a comprehensive LinkedIn profile received a 13.5% callback rate, compared with 7.9% for candidates with no profile at all. That is 71% more callbacks. Bare-bones profiles did not improve their chances. Only complete, well-developed profiles did.

LinkedIn’s own data points the same way: members who list five or more skills receive up to 17 times more profile views, and the network now has more than 1 billion members, so the profile is often the first thing a recruiter or client sees. A professional rewrite is most worth it when:
- You are preparing for a job search or a more senior role
- You were promoted but your profile still describes the old job
- You are changing industry or moving into a new professional category
- You are a consultant or independent professional whose clients check your profile before calling
It is less necessary if your career history is short and simple, or if you write well and have time to follow a good guide. In that case, a few hours of focused editing can get you most of the way.
What Our Profile Rebuild Costs
Our LinkedIn profile writing service is a one-time $300 Profile Rebuild. It includes positioning direction, a rewritten headline, About section and Experience content, recommendations for search terms, Skills, your Featured section and profile structure, one focused revision, and final copy with implementation notes. There is no subscription, and we never need access to your account.
LinkedIn Profile Writer vs LinkedIn Ghostwriter
A profile writer rewrites your profile once. A LinkedIn ghostwriter writes posts for you every month, usually for founders and executives who want to build visibility. Because it is ongoing work, ghostwriting is priced as a retainer, commonly $1,000 to $5,000 a month depending on volume and strategy. If that is what you need, see our LinkedIn personal branding program, which starts from $1,500/month.
FAQs
How much should I pay for a LinkedIn profile writer?
For most professionals, $150 to $500 buys a full, well-researched rewrite. Directors and executives should expect $500 to $900, and C-suite profiles often cost more. Below about $150, check carefully whether the Experience section and a revision are included.
Why do executive LinkedIn profiles cost more?
They take longer. Senior careers involve more roles, wider scope and more decisions to translate into a clear story, and the positioning has to work for boards, investors and peers as well as recruiters.
Does a LinkedIn profile writer need my login?
No. A good writer delivers finished copy and notes on where each part goes, and you paste it in yourself. Be cautious with anyone who asks for your password.
How long does a LinkedIn profile rewrite take?
Many writers deliver a first draft within about a week of the intake or consultation, with revisions after that. Rush options usually cost extra.
Is a resume and LinkedIn bundle a better deal?
It is cheaper if you need both, because the discovery work overlaps. The trade-off is that bundled profiles are often written from your resume, so they may not position you for where you want to go next.
Can I just use AI to write my LinkedIn profile?
AI can help you draft, but it cannot know your proof points, your goals or what makes you different. Profiles written from a generic prompt tend to sound like everyone else’s. If you use it, treat the output as a starting point and rewrite it with your own specifics.
Want a profile that matches your level?
Our $300 Profile Rebuild rewrites your headline, About section and Experience from your real experience, with one focused revision and no subscription.
